Do I have to train Jiu-Jitsu in order to join?
We prefer and encourage that our members have direct, proactive exposure to the art and combat sports in general. Because the art is our common language.
Does my industry matter?
No. We're industry agnostic.
If I train Brazilian/Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, does my banner affiliation matter?
No. We're banner agnostic. No matter your lineage, as long as you're bringing a mindset of abundance and collaboration, you're welcome!
How much is the membership?
Starting membership is $50 monthly or $99 annually.
Why is there a $99 annual fee? Can't I just connect with BJJ professionals for free on LinkedIn?
You absolutely can find practitioners on LinkedIn, but you have to wade through thousands of unvetted profiles and random messages. BJJN is not a social network; it is a private economic filter. The fee ensures that every member in the workspace is an active professional willing to invest in their network. It keeps the marketplace high-trust and completely free of spam and "tourists."
Why are you using Slack instead of a custom app or platform?
We purposefully keep our software overhead at zero so we can focus 100% of our energy on facilitating real human connections. Slack is reliable, fast, and already sits on the phone or desktop of almost every corporate executive and founder. It allows us to deliver immediate utility, like real-time travel coordination or quick B2B referrals, without forcing you to learn a new, clunky piece of software.
I am already incredibly busy. How much time commitment does BJJN require?
As much or as little as you want. BJJN is designed to be a utility, not a daily distraction. We do not expect you to scroll through channels every day. Instead, use it when you need it: when you are traveling to a new city and need a trusted peer to grab coffee or train with, when you are looking to hire a vetted vendor, or when you want to join our bi-monthly 30-minute strategy huddles.
Can't I just talk business at my local Jiu-Jitsu academy instead of BJJN?
Your local academy is fantastic for building deep regional roots, but pitching your business or hunting for clients on the mats can sometimes feel awkward or transactional. BJJN removes that social friction entirely. Everyone in this network has explicitly agreed to a culture of "We buy from each other." Furthermore, BJJN scales your reach nationally, connecting you to practitioners across different cities and states when you travel.
